Groovy Plants Ranch : Marengo, Ohio
I worked with owners Jared and Liz as a brand storyteller & creative communicator focusing on creating photo and video content on tight turnaround times. All video was shot at 4k and exported in multiple formats for YouTube, IG/Facebook, TikTok, their app, and website product listings. I streamlined my approach to balance the high demand of time-sensitive content and maximize quality for each platform.
Outside of content creation I worked to refine their website and set new standards for images, video, and layout that helped both navigation and aesthetics of their site.
Their preorder marketing program is robust and the schedule is tight. Unexpectedly, I filled an employment gap in their marketing program from early Spring until Fall of 25’. During this time I used Klaviyo extensively, worked to refine the campaigns based on the data. It was a team effort, from growers, to the in-house buyers and owners, but we increased revenue as much as 30% each month YoY.
Most importantly - I found my ability to connect with their team and customers most beneficial in changing the tone of the content to be more warm, friendly, and inviting.
Additional examples available from email campaigns, product specific videos, to event videos.
National Road House : Columbus, Ohio
Emily and I purchased 10 acres 40 minutes east of Columbus in 2017. Over the next six years, I designed the home to maximize its connection to the land — using a 1973 Airstream Argosy on-site to test positioning and live with what each room's windows would actually frame, long before construction began. The result is a light-filled space that puts the occupants directly in conversation with nature. It's far from camping or vanlife, but there's a thread of that same feeling running through how you move through the space.
We've since prioritized our move to Colorado over making this our long-term residence, so it now operates as an Airbnb.
STUMP Plants : Columbus, OH • Cleveland, OH • Milwaukee, WI • Philadelphia, PA • Savannah, GA
When I met Emily she was a part of a design research project collecting qualitative and quantitative insights into the horticulture industry. She would travel on the weekends and share her experiences with me upon returning. Though we had just started dating, I had a dream that we took the insights and built our own shops. This is where STUMP was born which evolved into a decade long project for us that grew from 1-10 locations and a warehouse space. In October of 2025 we chose to exit the company and pass off some of the locations to former managers who are now owners/operators.
We learned a great deal about fostering community through retail, how to build a successful nationally recognized brand, and how to navigate all the ups and downs of the entrepreneurial journey!
